The phrase “David and Goliath” is a popular phrase denoting an underdog situation, a contest wherein a smaller, weaker opponent faces a much bigger, stronger adversary. But was Goliath really a giant man? The Bible says he was. In fact, he belonged to a race of giants that had six fingers and six toes. He is said to have been 9 feet, 9 inches tall. Giants were probably the mutant (unnatural) offspring of the fallen angels who had unlawful sexual relations with the daughters of men (See Genesis 6:4).

SYNOPSIS OF DAVID AND GOLIATH
- The Israelites and Philistines face each other; Goliath makes his challenge to single combat
- David volunteers to fight Goliath
- David selects five smooth stones from a creek-bed to be used in his sling

- The Philistines flee the battlefield. The armies of Israel chase after them and defeat them in battle.
- The name of Yahweh, Israel’s God, is designated as “all-powerful” and given the glory.
